Val Kucherenko
Val brings 15 years of business consulting and strategic alliance experience with an emphasis
on Finance to the Advisory Council. Val started his career at Pepsi Co where he successfully
developed new export channels into five Eastern European countries resulting in significant
net new revenue. While at Pepsi Co, Val developed an ROI decision support tool, which was
widely utilized for country analysis investment decisions. Val later served on the corporate
finance staff at Pratt & Whitney where he developed a cost-volume-profit financial model
'invest-divest' which Pratt & Whitney and United Technology use to make in-house vs. outsource
manufacturing decisions.
Putting his financial savvy to work serving as a Senior Strategy Consultant at A.T. Kearney,
Val developed and led an international expansion project for a multi-billion dollar oil company,
managed a worldwide strategic sourcing project for a global CPG, and developed an exit strategy
allowing a global retailer to divest its low volume-low margin business freeing it to enter a
new high margin business resulting in a $100M impact on the company's EBIT. Val also served as
Director of Global Strategic Alliances at Nortel Networks where he was charged with the due
diligence and valuation process for strategic investment opportunities within the Clarify
software unit. Most recently Val developed an ROI calculator for several CMGi operating companies.
Val's proprietary valuation methodology for investment decisions is highly acclaimed by both the
academic and business communities. Val earned his Master of Business Administration from the J.L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a Master of Engineering in Technical Cybernetics & Robotics
and a Bachelor of Engineering Science from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia.
